In 1960, Lhasa Caiquan Welfare Nation Handicraft Industry Ltd. collaborated with experienced traditional actors and production teams to establish the first advanced traditional handicraft manufacturing company.

Three decades later, in 1990, the organization recruited a group of youths who were orphaned, disabled, or simply had no means of support to continue the development and preserve the artistic culture of the making of Tibetan traditional handicrafts. At that time, the operation took the name of  “Town Deformity Welfare Nation Handicraft Industry Colligation Factory”. Through many years of hard work and innovation, the operation has been able to not only preserve and advance the development of Traditional Tibetan handicrafts (which had been lost for many years and was nearing the brink of extinction) but also to contribute to the success of the careers of the traditional actors and production teams.

Additionally, Jatson Chumig has successfully combined traditional industry methods with modern manufacturing techniques, producing more than forty kinds of handicrafts, of such quality as to advance the development of the traditional handicraft market.

Our production methods are specifically unique, utilizing intricate and masterful hand-crafting techniques, exemplifying the heart and soul of Tibetan culture. Our products are treasured by both foreigners and peasants alike for their beauty, detail and authenticity.

The handicraft company at JCWSS has been nationaly recognized as the artisans of the nation's keepsakes, and has been awarded silver and gold awards from the Country Labor Department, National Tour Office, and the Government Department Owning Honor Title of Good Faith Demonstration Corportation.
