Greetings Everyone!

Happy New Year, 2009 ~~~ Happy Losar, 2136
Losar:  2136

Losar

The word Losar is a Tibetan word for New Year.
LO means year and SAR means new.

We hope this new year (2009/2136) brings great happiness and peace ... to everyone.
New School Uniforms:

Jatson Winter Uniforms
The Collette Foundation based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island ~ USA, have provided new winter and summer school uniforms for every student at Jatson Chumig. This process, begun last year, has taken time to complete because of the delay by the manufactures in Mainland China. We are extremely excited about these new uniforms and are so thankful to the Collette Foundation for their generosity, kindness (and patience) in working with us to provide the best uniforms for the children. Pictured are just some of the Jatson students from all grades who were in Lhasa at the time of photo.Jatson Summer Uniforms This has been a huge undertaking but with continued determination on behalf of Tenzin Choedon along with the generosity of the Collette Foundation, the Jatson Chumig children look great and will be so much warmer now, and in the future.

Many thanks to all the people from the Collette Foundation for your profound kindness, belief and generosity.

The children of Jatson Chumig say thank you.
  Thank You in Tibetan

A Bold Step Forward:

For some time now, Jatson Chumig has been working on being approved as a 501c3 non-profit corporation by the United States Government. There are many steps one has to take for this process to be completed, but with a lot of help and donated services from an attorney from the law firm, Drew - Eckl and Farnham, of Atlanta, Georgia ... We did it!

501c3We are excited to announce that Jatson Chumig's application for 501c3 non-profit is now Pending and awaiting for final approval by the Internal Revenue Service of the U.S. Government.

EIN #    35-2355827

As of this press release, we are awaiting our letter of approval from the Internal Revenue Service. Donations can be made, with the knowledge, that once we receive the Letter of Approval from the IRS, your donation is tax-deductible. (If for some unknown reason, the IRS rejects our application, then your donation would not be tax-deductible). We forsee no problems in our application.

Corporate Logo Once our 'pending status' becomes final and fully accepted, if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program, you will be able to double your donation to Jatson Chumig. Getting Jatson Chumig approved as a 501c3 non-profit organization is a huge step forward for us ... both in the United States and globally.

The State of Georgia and the Secretary of State have issued a Certificate of Incorporation for the Jatson Chumig Educational Corporation dated January 21, 2009. Our Articles of Incorporation were also filed and have been accepted. All services by our Board of Directors are donated and no fees are being paid to anyone. All donations go directly to Jatson Chumig School.

A U.S. bank account now exists for this new corporation whose only purpose is to increase funding for the Jatson Chumig School & Orphanage in Lhasa, Tibet - P.R. China. Your tax-deduction donation checks can be written to Jatson Chumig Educational Corporation and mailed to the following address:
