End-of-Year Financials

JCECSome readers may think ... "Jatson Chumig has become too commercialized; all they ask for now is money." This is far from the truth. If you have been to Jatson Chumig, Visitor or Volunteer, then you know that as precious as your memories are, it is also vital that Jatson remain a success. Buildings are in disrepair, Staff is underpaid, Jatson Chumig needs to rebuild itself, now!

On August 31, 2009, Jatson Chumig just completed its 2008-'09 fiscal year. We were successful in raising $57,307. Many thanks to the 49 individuals and 1 foundation who made donations this past year. We truly are grateful for your generosity and support.

Over 500 people receive this newsletter, yet only 50 made a contribution. We need everyone to become involved because we need you! Memories of the kids are not enough; together we need to keep Jatson... special. Yes, we will continue updating you with stories of the kids --- but we all can, and we all should, do our best in trying to help these kids live a better life. Better food, better sanitation, better education, better sleeping conditions, better training for an improved future.

Our smallest donation in 2008-'09 was $7 to feed one child for one week.
A foundation donated $7,400 and bought new clothing/uniforms for every child.
A family donated $25,000 which was used to purchase the Jatson Chumig School Van.
Even school children from Massachusetts & Wisconsin, USA, donated over $1,600.

Somewhere in this range of $7 - $25,000 ... (or more), we hope you see yourself. Become a benefactor, sponsor a student, help rebuild Jatson, or just help feed just one child. Jatson Chumig truly needs your financial support to remain the success it has become.
These words come from Jampa and Tenzin ... "Please help, we need to do this for the children."
